The project

An independent educational directory

The Media Liability Insurance Directory is an educational reference for musicians and creators who want to understand media liability insurance: what it is, who insurers write it for, and which providers offer it. It publishes no quotes, takes no applications, binds no coverage, and gives no insurance advice.

How it is researched

  • Primary sources only. Every provider profile is built from the provider's own current product pages, policy forms, applications, or company announcements, verified in September 2026.
  • Every factual claim is cited. Each page ends with a Sources section naming the materials it relies on. No Wikipedia is used as a source.
  • Unverifiable facts are omitted. If a detail cannot be tied to a citable source, it does not appear. Summaries describe how insurers present their products; they do not claim to describe every policy.
  • Listings are not recommendations. Every provider page states that its profile is informational only and not a recommendation.

Providers that were researched but not listed

Research also looked at AIG and Travelers. In September 2026, no current primary product page describing a dedicated media liability offering could be verified for either, so neither is listed. They were excluded rather than described from secondary sources. If verifiable primary materials appear, the directory can be updated.

Relationship with SongSure

This directory is connected with SongSure, a pre-launch insurance agency for musicians and creators. SongSure's placements on this site are house listings and are always labeled Featured; they are not editorial rankings and do not affect which providers appear in the directory. SongSure is pre-launch: the site's posture is educational and waitlist-only, and the waitlist lives at songsure.co.
